Slow Down Already

Open suitcase packed for a trip with clothes, sandals, and Flatbush Granola single-serving snack packs

Is it just me, or does this summer feel like it's moving at 1.5x speed?

I was on a call last week with a buyer from the New York City Public Schools system, and someone from their procurement office started talking about back-to-school opportunities. I nodded along and thought, "there's plenty of time to prepare for that, kids don't go back until August." And then it hit me: August is only two weeks away. How did we get here??

I don't know about you, but more and more I need a late summer reset before the fall push hits. As an entrepreneur, there's never really a "good" time to take a vacation, the business doesn't take breaks. So I've learned to pick a date and book the travel. If you wait for the "right" time, you'll always find a reason not to go. But once the ticket is bought, you'll miraculously make everything else work around it. This week I'm headed to beautiful British Columbia to see my bestie and her family. Grilling, baking, and yes, some granola-making are already on the itinerary. Everybody wins.

The Airport Hack That Saves My Mornings

Your $9 airport yogurt comes with 3 sad blueberries. Mine comes with granola.

Your million-dollar rideshare still drops you at the airport before sunrise for the Hunger Games at the Dunkin' line. Big fun! Here's my hack: I pack some of our single-serving snack packs so I can skip the humiliation ritual altogether. Tear open the mini pouch, pour some delicious granola into that yogurt cup, and give it a quick stir. Breakfast in a snap.

There's no good way to fly on an empty, hangry stomach. If you've got a trip planned before summer's last call, do what I do: BYOG (Bring Your Own Granola) and sail past the bread lines with a tiny smirk. You'll be glad you did.

Snack packs are 15% off with code BYOG through Sunday at midnight. Bon voyage!

Got a late-summer trip of your own? Tell us where you're headed in the comments.
